Having Katherine in this picture helps to give a little perspective to the awesome size of the sand dunes at Sossus Vlei. We were able to drive to within 5 miles of this pan, but we missed our ride back and had to walk through 5 miles of loose and blowing sand in the mid-day heat. Incredibly beautiful, but a very harsh environment. |
